SAFETY FIRST!

We are an ardent supporter of Team Oregon's motorcycle riding course. They provide wonderful classes for novice riders, experienced riders, and advanced riders. If you are just beginning to be involved in motorcycling, the smartest thing would be to take Team Oregon's basic rider class. The Basic class consists of 7 hours of classroom instruction and 9 hours of riding experience over 3 days. Small lightweight motorcycles are provided by the school. Once you have graduated from the class, you take your certificate to the DMV and they will give you a motorcycle endorsement - no DMV tests required! TIPS

1. Purchase a good helmet that is correctly fitted. Never buy a used helmet. Full-Face helmets offer the most protection. Armored motorcycle gear is worth its weight in gold. Gloves are also a must!

2. Check your tires and brakes before going riding as they are the most important safety feature on your bike. Check for proper pressure, wear, or damage that could affect the handling of the bike.

3. Maintain your motorcycle as per manufacturer's recommendations.
